Pi Ying(Chinese Shadow Puppetry) Demo

 I took some character image from Internet, and I animated some of them create a small shadow puppetry play in Unity. 



    I also added Particle system to simulate the weathers, like, rain, cloud and thunder.

 Work Plan Week 1 - 2: Pattern Research and AR/VR Project Research. Week 3 : Pattern/Image Design, Sensor Pad Layout Design and Basic UI/UX Design Base on Sensor and Image. Week 4: UX design and create project demo(Unity). Week 5 : UX design, create Art works and animations(2D or 3D). Write thesis draft. Thesis writing Week 6: Continue animations and start to learn Open Sound Control and Passing Sensor Data Between PC and Phone and Implement OSC into Unity.  Thesis writing Week 7: Add animations into the scene and create new demo for pilot test.  Week 8: Analyze the result of pilot test and adjust the demo. Week 9: TBD.

 My Research     Usability Study of Fabric-Based Sensors as Interactive Input Devices in Augmented and Virtual Reality Experiences.     Keywords: Fabric-Based Sensor, Capacitive Sensor, UI, Unity, AR and VR. The Capacitive Touch Sensor (CTS)     The name of the fabric-based sensor that I am currently using is The Capacitive Touch Sensor(CTS). It is created by Vallett Richard who is a electrical engineering PHD student as Drexel University, and it was his master project. Currently, he is working at Center for Functional Fabric. They have some pretty cool projects, such as haptic glove.  Development Progress     The Chinese Zodiac pattern carries specials meaning and it is well known by the people of world. So I tried to design my first Chinese Zodiac sensor layout. And thank Zimo to draw this picture for me.!        The rat is formed by 4 separate shape, and each purple shape is touch area of the sensor. And the input can be customized by the user as well. For example, I can use the two shapes(Control 2 and 3) to move the character to left or right and use Control 1 and 4 for special commend, like use item or special move.      To create correspond actions, I input this mouse pattern into Unity and I animated it with 2D skeleton animation. The 2D skeleton animation is pretty easy to use and it is very good to animate sperate shapes.     But there was a problem when I tried to put my character movement script into my rat.
